Collaborate with other directors in design, product management, strategy, and new business to plan and manage both company-level and project-level initiatives
Recruit, develop and coach a diverse and talented engineering team on an individual and team level as well as mentor and guide junior engineers
Manage design, development, strategy and branding engagements
Exhibit strong leadership and interpersonal skills to allow for successful execution of recruiting, career management and cross discipline collaboration responsibilities
Establish successful standards, processes (such as SCRUM) and tools to increase productivity and delivery quality
For new projects, oversee or participate in technical requirements gathering, use-case discovery, and platform analysis and generate convincing and substantiated technology and architecture recommendations
Serve as the technical contact for clients, third-party vendors, technology partners and internal project stakeholders
Support new business efforts by participating in discussions/pitches with potential clients and representing Big Human as a technically advanced product studio.
Support new business efforts by scoping new projects, evaluating vendor documentation and technical requirements to accurately estimate, as well as preparing and deliver technical proposals and presentations to all levels of a client’s organization
Skills & Experience
Experience managing technology teams of 10+ people (developers, QA, etc.)
Deep practical engineering experience in implementing, leading and delivering significant technology projects
Holistic technology understanding including front-end, backend, dev-ops & quality assurance
8-10+ years developing and leading large-scale technology engagement and at least 2+ years doing so in an agency environment
Expert-level knowledge of functional programming, object-oriented design concepts, various frameworks, data storage implementations and enterprise design patterns
Up-to-date understanding of market trends and keen interest in following emerging technologies
Advanced ability to analyze business requirements quickly to determine and assess scope, timelines, and feasibility
An excellent understanding of best practices across technologies (client/server-side, QA, deployment, project management etc.)
Excellent time management, problem solving, teamwork, and communication skills
Experience building applications and websites for large multinational brands
