Head of Communications

We’re seeking a talented Head of Communications to manage all external studio comms, oversee the content team, and champion Big Human’s presence asa design and technology leader. Reporting directly to the Managing Partner, you’ll be responsible for communications strategy and creation, as well as managing the content team as they implement our marketing objectives. You’ll work closely with other department heads to align communications and content production with strategic goals.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Manage all communications material
  • Evolve and champion a multi-channel communications and content strategy aligned with organizational goals
  • Manage media relations and develop contacts with media members, thought leaders, and community leaders
  • Manage presence at industry events, trade shows, and conferences
  • Activate brand voice and maintain brand integrity across all platforms
  • Lead a small team of content strategists, writers, and designers
  • Manage and coordinate with content team members responsible for the development of content and creative assets, including creation and management of KPI’s, professional development, and performance management
  • Oversee the creation of digital, video, audio and print content
  • Oversee SEO for the company, ensuring high-quality content
  • Track engagement across various platforms and make data-driven decisions
  • Create and manage budget for the communications/content team
  • Manage various vendor relationships as key point of contact

Head of Communications Qualifications / Skills:

  • Demonstrated knowledge and proficiency with martech platforms
  • Understanding of copywriting, graphic design, layout, and publishing
  • Working knowledge of content management systems, HTML coding, and digital graphics production
  • Familiarity with social media platforms and social media marketing
  • Experience with search engine marketing, Google Analytics, and Google AdWords
  • Impeccable copywriting and copy editing abilities
  • Strong leadership track record
  • Existing network of editorial and media industry professionals
  • Excellent verbal communication and presentation skills

Education and Experience Requirements:

  • 10-plus years of communications, marketing or public relations or related experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in communications, marketing or a related discipline
  • Experience managing digital content
  • Established media relations a plus
